About Me

My name is Jason Murray. I was born in 1983, first played Mega Man 2 somewhere around 1990, and knew from that moment on that I wanted to create games for a living. I grew up in a tiny little town called Pocahontas, Virgina and graduated in the top ten in my class. Don’t let that fool you though, the class was only about 35 people. Still, I had a solid 3.5 GPA from watching too much Discovery and History Channels.

I went to East Tennessee State University in 2001 because I had seen a really cool demonstration of their Digital Media department on a school field trip and was sold. Somewhere in this area I met my future wife, discovered that programming was as much fun as art, and developed a nasty addiction to Pen and Paper RPGs. I graduated in 2006 with a BS in Digital Media and a Minor in Computer Science.

After working for a small company in Asheville, NC for a while doing freelance stuff I was hit by the Recession(TM) and pretty much had no choice but beg an old friend for a job in retail so that I could afford to eat. Somewhere around this time I decided to help a friend with a big project that turned into the Flatware 2D Game Engine. It was also around this time that it dawned on me just how much my college time was wasted as I had exactly NOTHING to show in my portfolio. Thus I began the first of a series of web sites that finally culminated in this one before you. Enjoy!
